How to set up a Steam artwork showcase

Every ten levels earns another showcase slot. Here is how to fill them properly.

Steam Levels Up Guide Updated September 2026

A high Steam level is worth more when the profile around it looks deliberate. The artwork showcase is the biggest visual change you can make to a Steam profile, and every ten levels earns you another slot to work with.

First, unlock a showcase slot

Showcases are gated behind your Steam level. You get your first slot at level 10, and one more for every ten levels after that, up to 20 slots. An artwork showcase takes one of those slots, so level 10 is the practical starting line for a designed profile.

Not there yet? Reaching level 10 from zero takes ten card sets, the cheapest band there is. Price it on the calculator.

Upload your artwork

  1. Go to your profile Open your Steam profile and find the Artwork tab.
  2. Upload the image Choose Upload Artwork, pick your file, give it a title, and set the visibility to Public. Artwork left private or friends-only will not display to visitors.
  3. Repeat for each piece A multi-panel design is several separate uploads, added to the showcase in order.

Add the artwork showcase

  1. Edit your profile From your profile, click Edit Profile.
  2. Open Showcases Pick the Showcases section and choose Artwork Showcase from the list of types available to you.
  3. Select your uploads Assign the artwork you uploaded to each slot in the showcase.
  4. Save and check Save, then view your profile as a visitor would to confirm it reads the way you intended.

Things that trip people up

  • Private artwork. Uploads must be public, or the showcase looks empty to everyone but you.
  • Wrong crop. Artwork built for a different slot count gets cropped or letterboxed. Panels for a multi-slot design have to be cut for that exact layout.
  • Upload order. Panels of one wide image only line up if you assign them in the right order.
  • Slots are finite. Every showcase type consumes a slot, so decide what matters most: artwork, badges, items, screenshots or achievements.

Where to get artwork that fits

This is our sister studio's whole job. NavidArtworks designs Steam profile artwork cut to the right proportions for the showcase it is going into, so you upload it and it lines up.

Level and profile together

The two jobs complement each other: the level unlocks the slots, the artwork fills them. Price your level up on the calculator, then choose artwork for the slots it opens. Questions about either? Message NavidArtworks on Steam or join the Discord.
